Louise & Greg – Chesham Wedding Photography
Louise and Greg are childhood sweethearts, always giggling with each other, and just totally adorable. We’d gotten to know each other really well as I captured some pre-wedding photos in Paris for them – which was an absolute blast!
They’d planned a church wedding at St Peter’s in Berkhamsted, followed by a relaxed reception in the garden of Louise’s childhood home in Chesham. As a Buckinghamshire wedding photographer, I know the area really well, so getting the chance to be part of this celebration with Louise and Greg’s family and friends was a real pleasure.
“…breath-taking photos that do not look forced in any way… I particularly love how Deji plays with colour, as the photos honestly seem to jump out of the screen when you get them!”

Local church wedding ceremony
Louise’s Madi Lane Bridal dress, from Pure Couture had exactly the look of ethereal, floaty magic she had dreamed of, and the smile on her face said it all really – it was perfect! Greg wore a bespoke suit from William Young in Berkhamsted, which reportedly took three hours to design (well worth the effort if you ask me!).
After their ceremony, their guests absolutely covered them in confetti as they exited the church. Louise and Greg knew they’d be able to look back and remember this moment whenever they visited their favourite coffee shop, which is just across the road from the church.
Garden wedding reception
Back at the family home, a meadow-scape of flowers from Jackie Gold decorated the informal table seating, with table names based on locations from the couple’s favourite books. They enjoyed a relaxed feast of Texas barbecue style food from Smoked by Collata Live, served from a food truck rather than a formal sit-down meal – adding to the super chilled vibes of the day.
The canopy of the open-sided sailcloth tent from Events Under Canvas created a lovely feeling of space, and a nice cool breeze to keep everyone comfortable. It also gave me plenty of space and freedom to move around, capturing their day in my unobtrusive documentary style.
Friends, family and so much love
It was an incredible display of the love Louise and Greg’s friends and family have for them, with everyone pulling together and adding personal touches to the day. Greg’s mum, Heather made their enormous cake, presented on a rustic log table – it was so delicious that it was almost completely gone by the end of the night.
Louise’s Parents, Tim and Helena had put in huge amounts of hard work to get the fields ready and create the perfect space for their wedding reception – and it looked amazing on the day. It had extra special meaning too, as it was where Greg first asked Louise to be his girlfriend way back when they were just 16 years old. There was even a field next door for camping overnight, so Louise and Greg could wake up and have breakfast with some of their guests.
A rocking soundtrack to the evening party
Louise and Greg had asked their band, The Kicks, to learn a song for their first dance. Although not usually in their set list, they performed a brilliant version of Vance Joy’s Fire and the Flood. Having provided a more chilled, acoustic set for the welcome drinks, The Kicks then launched into a more energetic rock and pop soundtrack for the evening to really get the party started. Once everyone got on the dance floor there was no stopping them. Having a brilliant band (who also DJ’d between sets and took requests from guests) gave the atmosphere such a buzz!
Drinks were flowing, and Mixology with Olly were very popular, serving some awesome cocktails. Later on, they’d also arranged for a converted horse box from Liquid Mobile Bar, to serve hot drinks into the evening, and cosy fire-pits that they huddled around until gone 1am!
Congratulations Louise and Greg
When childhood sweethearts get married, they bring together a lifelong bond between friends and family, and being part of that was magical. I joined them all on the dance floor before I left, what an epic wedding! I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the day, surrounded by lovely people, and celebrating in a beautiful setting. It was a real joy to capture all of the laughter, emotion, and fun from start to finish.
