I was honoured when Sabrina and Ash-lee chose me to photograph their wedding at Sopwell House. With lovely touches of champagne and balloons awaiting them in their rooms, the couple’s morning began with the opening of gifts and cards sent to each other. Having been together for a few years, the words within their cards were both funny and tearfully emotional.
Their intimate wedding ceremony was attended by guests in Mountbatten suite, with high ceilings and french doors onto the picturesque terrace. As they exchanged vows, Sabrina was overwhelmed with emotions of joy, because after 10 years they finally tied the knot. The confetti walk and their formal family photos took place in the stunning landscaped garden. The couple and I then took a stroll through the garden, for them enjoy the sunset visible from the gazebo, where we shot some of their portraits.
The function rooms, recently refurbished, are stylishly decorated to act as the perfect blank canvas for your celebrations. Sabrina and Ash-lee’s had their wedding reception in the The Lady Patricia & Princess Alice suite. The room was beautifully decorated with flowers, chandeliers and chiffon vertical covered chairs. Under the purple mood lighting, the speeches and stories of love and friendship brought laughter and tears to everyone in the room.
The couple played the wedding shoe game to everyone’s entertainment, as Sabrina was visibility surprised with some of Ash-lee’s responses. The room erupted with belly-aching laughter time after time and undoubtedly was one of the memorable moments of the day. And then came the first dance and party! After a few shots, everyone headed for the dance floor where the evening continued until late.
