A Central London Engagement Photoshoot – Fena & Nick

Thank you so much for spending some time with us last week. It was great fun and great to meet you properly. The photos look lovely, thank you for sending them through so quickly. We felt very comfortable, especially when we relaxed into it a bit. You can definitely tell we are a bit more relaxed in the photos taken at the end. We prefer the more natural, documentary style shots for sure – though some of the posed photos do look amazing! Thank you so much for spending the time with us and helping us to mark the day in such a nice way. Can’t wait until next year!

Fena and Nick.

A beautiful central London engagement photoshoot with Fena and Nick, who had originally planned to get married on the 18th September this year, but had to postpone their wedding to next year due to the COVID-19 restrictions in England. And so they came up with the brilliant idea of marking the day they would have married with an engagement shoot in the morning and brunch with their bridal and groom wedding party members in the afternoon. Honestly it was a great idea and what fun we had.

They were real troopers as they agreed to do an early morning sunrise session and it felt like we had London to ourselves. On the morning, we had a chat over breakfast at Gail’s Bakery in Waterloo and it was wonderful to hear their story of how they met on a cruise ship and fell in love. You just never know when you’ll meet that special one, so stay hopefully if you’re single and reading this blog.

I have to say that these guys were naturals in front of the camera. Fena, who was suppose to be the shy one, very quickly adjusted to the fact that I was taking photos of them and not long afterwards was directing Nick on the occasions I posed them for a shot. We started at The South Bank on the River Thames and walked casually along the river towards Shad Thames, near Tower Bridge. We walked passed all the iconic London landmarks, occasionally stopping at the unique locations I had spotted with beautiful sunlight. Fena and Nick had lived in Shad Thames during their time in London and have many fond memories of this part of central London; making it very comfortable for them to get into the flow of an engagement photoshoot.

The morning was filled with stories, jokes and laughter and made the moments I captured really special for them. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next year and based on what I’ve heard from their stories, it’s going to be a cracker.

Pre-Wedding / Engagement Photoshoot in London

London has so many iconic, vibrant and socially trendy locations to have an engagement photoshoot. This includes locations such as Hampstead, Primrose Hill, Richmond, Rose Gardens and Pergola at Kew Gardens, all of which look beautiful during the spring, summer and autumn seasons. You also have The Royal Parks (Regents Park, Hyde Park, St James Park, Green Park, and Kensington Gardens).

If you want something that really feels like London, there’s no need to overthink it – we can just hit the streets and alleyways of London’s vibrant places like Notting Hill, Camden, Shoreditch and Brick Lane. In central London you have The South Bank, St. Pauls, Covent Garden, The London Eye, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, Shad Thames and many more.

If you’re interested in having your very own engagement/pre-wedding photoshoot session, please get in touch and lets have a chat. You can email me at info@dejijohnson.co.uk or call me on 07595 723423 and I will get back to you. We can hopefully then arrange a date and time to talk.

Hope to hear from you soon!
