Chelsea Old Town Hall Wedding – Natasha & Leon

Chelsea Old Town Hall Wedding - Natasha & Leon

This Chelsea Old Town Hall wedding was one of the few weddings I captured in 2020. If you remember 2020 well, you’ll know it was the year of social distancing, washing our hands and covering our faces. Our lives, businesses, schools and many other things came to a halt in March. However, there was a window between July and October when things opened up again and some form of normality returned, including couples being able to have their wedding ceremonies and small reception.  One of this was the wedding day of Natasha and Leon, who got married at Chelsea Old Town Hall in September and were supported by their chosen 30 friends and family members and the 246 guests who watched online.

Natasha and Leon are an amazing couple and have warm and infectious personalities. Their wedding day was very emotional having had everything thrown at it, but they finally got to say “I Do” and I was fortunate to be one of those who witnessed it (as well as photograph it). They were determined to have their special day despite the imposed changes on their wedding day plans, including socially distancing their guests, providing a live stream for others far and wide, and a scaled down wedding reception.

Natasha got ready at home with her cousin as her maid of honour. She wore a beautiful and elegant Eve Lendel Dress and bouquet by Rushes Florist. As you’ll see from the images below, both Natasha and Leon have beautiful smiles, that are infectious and always lite up the room. During their consultation, Natasha had told me that she wanted a minimalistic and classic wedding day with a strong focus on tradition and family, so I knew it was always on the cards that there would be tears during the speeches and they did not disappoint. They had been through so much together and found their soulmate in each other.

Leon is in fact an old childhood friend I grew up with in Clapham, South London. It was special to see him find that special someone and commit himself to her for better and for worst. As he waited at the top of the aisle and Natasha was beautifully about to enter the hall, I loved seeing his nerves quickly turned to joy once he knew she was here. Just look at that smile in the photos, he is beyond happy!

Enough from me now. I think the photos will tell a better wedding day story than my words.

To Natasha and Leon, Congratulations! I am so happy for you! Thank you for choosing me to capture these special moments and memories for you. I wish you endless adventures and happy occasions as you embark down this journey as husband and wife.

A big thank you to my friend James of James Richard Photography for assisting me and being my second photographer. It’s always a pleasure working with you Bro!

“The photos are beautiful!!! We love every single one of them and we could not have asked for anything more.”

There are a few picturesque locations in Chelsea in which to take formal wedding photographs, including St Luke’s Gardens, a public space next to St Luke’s & Christ Church. We took Natasha and Leon’s newlyweds portraits and family photos right in the middle of the garden with the world looking on. With all the attention and shouts of congratulations across the garden from the public, it really added that little bit extra to their day, when their guest numbers were so restricted.
