Here is my Best of 2020 Wedding Photography (mostly in London) that I have been fortunate to have captured for my couples, and what a year it has been. COVID-19 brought the world to it’s knees and the entire wedding industry and every couple’s plans to an halt over night in March of this year. However, it was to everyone’s relief when the restrictions were lifted in July and weddings could resume. I photographed 5 weddings and an engagement shoot. I thought was a brilliant idea when Fena and Nick decided to mark the day they would have gotten married in September with an engagement shoot in Central London. It was so much fun being out and creating beautiful photos again, I can’t wait to capture their wedding day next year.
With social distancing and as photographer’s, it has meant that I have had to work harding and smarter (not that I wasn’t before) to capture those intimate and special moment every couple had dreamt of me capturing for them. After so much loss of life this year, these wedding days were like an escape from the reality that was happening outside and in the world. Two of my 5 weddings were full day coverages with 30 guests at Chelsea Town Hall and 15 guests at The Bingham Riverhouse and it felt great to be in wedding venues where the love was almost tangible with so many people there to support the couples. The 3 smaller weddings I captured were also beautiful in their own special way because regardless of the size, two human beings were committing the rest of the lives to each other in front of the most important and closest people to them in this world. It was no longer about the size of the wedding but rather the love and commitment they have for and to each other.
Lastly, I would like to say a massive thank you to all of the couples who made the brave decision to go ahead with their wedding despite not having the one they had dreamt of with lots of family and friends. As these photos will show, your wedding day was still just as special but just with fewer people. I would also like to say a massive thank you to the couples who worked with me in rearranging and securing a new date in 2021 and 2022 so I could still be a part of your wedding day. Your trust and patience was very much appreciated and I am looking forward to capturing all the special moments for you and creating some beautiful wedding portraits of you both.
Thank you for taking the time to read this Best of 2020 Wedding Photography London blog and I hope you love these images of love, laughter and tears of joy, I was fortunate to have been asked to capture. Happy viewing!
Much Love, Deji
